The widened arches and large wheels make kerbs and tight garage ramps the main risk. Hotel valet on the quays is the easy option; avoid the Old Town lanes around the Bourg-de-Four.

Col du Pillon for the photo

Glacier 3000 is about 1h45 from Geneva via the Col du Pillon. With the car parked at the col and the Diablerets massif behind it, you have the photo of the trip before you even board the cable car.

Montreux on a weekday

An hour along the lake, the Montreux promenade makes a change of scene from the Geneva quays. Park, then walk to Château de Chillon.
