The Car for This Stay

Why the Range Rover LWB works in Geneva

In Geneva, the seat that matters is often the one behind the driver. Elderly parents, a principal taking calls between appointments, a guest flown in for dinner: the long-wheelbase Range Rover gives them stretched-out legroom and a cabin quiet enough to talk at normal volume. When you rent a Range Rover LWB in Geneva, you also decide day by day who drives: a chauffeur for the boutiques and evening dinners, yourself for a drive into the mountains.

  • Four seats, chosen on purpose This is a four-seat car: two in front, two in a rear lounge. With four aboard it still takes five large suitcases, enough for a couple and two elders arriving together.
  • Chauffeur or self-drive Be driven to shopping and dinners in town, and keep the keys yourself for the col roads. Tell us which days you want a driver when you book.
  • From the aircraft to the hotel We bring the car planeside where the private terminal permits it, or to the FBO entrance. The flight is tracked, so the car is ready whenever you land, and elders go straight from the steps to the rear seat.
  • Wafting to the mountains Chamonix is about 1h15, Glacier 3000 about 1h45. From the rear seat, either trip feels like time in a lounge rather than a transfer.

  • Chamonix & the Aiguille du Midi

    1h15 · France

Cool mountain air on a hot Geneva day - cable car toward Mont Blanc. Go early; the family lunch spot is La Calèche in Chamonix village.

  • Montreux & Château de Chillon

    1h00

Switzerland's most family-friendly landmark plus lakefront ice cream in Montreux. On the return, the motorway gets you home in under an hour when the kids fade.

  • Annecy

    45 min · France

The canal town the whole Gulf Instagram already knows; pedal boats are the afternoon hit. Arrive before 10 a.m. for parking near the old town.

  • Glacier 3000 & Col du Pillon

    1h45

Cable car from Col du Pillon to 3,000 m: suspension bridge and glacier sledge. Snow in July - the photo that makes the group chat.

  • Lavaux terraces & Vevey

    50 min

UNESCO vineyard roads, then the Alimentarium and Chaplin statue for the children. Late afternoon light on the terraces is the move.

Speed cameras are everywhere and fines are severe - we brief every client on limits at handover.

Cross-border paperwork for France and Italy is handled - the car is fully cleared. Rue du Rhône valet culture is busy in August; we brief the best drop-off points.

Local know-how

Good to know in Geneva

Right bank to left bank

From the Mandarin Oriental or the Four Seasons, the boutiques of Rue du Rhône and Rue du Marché are just across the river. With a chauffeur, the short hop is door to door and you never need to look for a space for a long car.

Hotel forecourts

The LWB is longer than a standard Range Rover but handles a hotel forecourt easily. Leave it with the valet, and ask us at handover which drop-off points work best at your hotel.

The quieter alternative to a G63

For arrivals that should be noticed without becoming a scene, the LWB is the discreet choice. If the principal also wants a G63 for the evenings, both can be booked together.

Questions

Range Rover LWB in Geneva: questions we get asked

Why does the Range Rover LWB have only four seats?

The rear is set up as two individual seats rather than a bench, so each rear passenger has a seat of their own. If you need five or more seats, the Range Rover HSE or the Mercedes V-Class is a better fit.

Will my parents be comfortable in the back on the way to Chamonix?

Yes, that is what the long wheelbase is for. The extra legroom makes the 1h15 trip easy, and with the car cleared for France there is nothing to arrange at the border.

Can a chauffeur be waiting at the private terminal when we land?

Yes. Send us the tail number and arrival time. We follow the flight, and the car and driver are at the FBO, or planeside where permitted, ready for the transfer to your hotel.

Should we choose the LWB or the HSE?

If someone will be driven most days and the rear seat matters most, the LWB. If you mainly drive yourselves and need five seats or an easier fit in apartment garages, the HSE.

Luxury shopping in Geneva

Geneva is one of Europe's densest luxury corridors. Leave the car with valet and walk the maisons on foot - we brief drop-off points that keep Rue du Rhône arrivals smooth.

Rue du Rhône

Watches, bags & haute joaillerie

Rue du Rhône

The main stage for Patek Philippe, Rolex, Vacheron Constantin, Cartier, Hermès, Chanel and Louis Vuitton. Start at the Rhône end and work toward Rive - most flagships sit within a few blocks.

For the most exclusive watch appointments, ask the maison for a private viewing; we can time car delivery around your slot.

Rue de la Confédération & Rue du Marché

Couture & leather

Rue de la Confédération & Rue du Marché

Parallel streets for Dior, Prada, Gucci and specialist leather ateliers - quieter than the Rhône frontage, still fully valet-aware.

Ideal after a lakefront lunch; short walk from Quai du Mont-Blanc hotels.

Place du Port & Quai boutiques

Jewellery & one-off pieces

Place du Port & Quai boutiques

Lake-facing houses for high jewellery and independent watch retailers - useful when you want something rarer than the main-street windows.

Combine with an evening lakefront drive; we can collect you at the hotel porte-cochère.
